Marine Jobs

Like the offshore oil industry, the marine industry can be hard to break in to. Once in to one or the other, you will have a far greater chance of getting another job in either industry. They compliment each other and companies will look upon your experience as valuable to their industry.

So if you are trying to get offshore and finding it difficult, make sure you try the marine industry. If you get in there, you may find you want to stay, or move on to an oil rig. Your new experience in the marine industry will be a lot more attractive to oil rig employers.

The marine industry is a great career in it's own right. However, if you have your heart set on the oil industry, you could use marine as a way to gain valuable experience.
