North Sea investment rises

Investment in the north sea is set to continue to rise this year. Current high oil prices and mid east turmoil make the UK oil sector increasingly attractive.

This extra investment is expected to see an increase in oil production. However, probably not quite enough to halt the slow decline in overall UK production.

Several thousand new jobs will be created directly and in various dependent industries.
